WINNERS ANNOUNCED
Winners of the 2010 United Nations Association of Australia World Environment Day Awards were announced on Friday 4 June at the Awards Presentation Dinner. The gala event, hosted by Rob Gell, President of Greening Australia was held at the Grand Hyatt Melbourne on the eve of World Environment Day. Media Release 2010 - 'Winners Announced' Media Release 2010 - 'Finalists Announced' The 5th of June is World Environment Day. Each year on this designated day, the UNAA seeks to focus world attention on the environment, and in particular, on positive programs that work towards protecting or restoring the world's natural heritage. The UNAA actively promotes World Environment Day through the United Nations Association of Australia World Environment Day Awards. In celebration of 2010 the International Year of Biodiversity and this year's UNEP World Environment Day theme 'Many Species, One Planet, One Future', we are pleased to announce a new award. The 'Department of Sustainability and Environment Biodiversity Award' seeks to recognise the best company, organisation, community or individual that has demonstrated innovation and excellence in the development and management of Australia's biodiversity.
