United Nations Associations exist throughout the world, and the World Federation of United Nation Associations (WFUNA) headquarters are in Geneva. WFUNA has consultative status with the Economic and Social Council of the United Nations.

United Nations Associations serve as a vital link between the United Nations and the citizens of its member states. They are typically sub-divided into chapters and divisions to ensure representation of the full character of a nation. Activities and programs of National UNAs may then be carried out at a national and local level.

The UN Association is the only NGO which devotes its resources exclusively to promoting the aims and ideals of the UN, and is the only NGO authorised to use the UN logo.

The United Nations Association of Australia, Victorian Division, works hard to promote the UN throughout Australia. The UNAA Victoria runs a variety of activities, events, award programs and conferences that promote the aims and ideals of the United Nations.
