AWID The Association for Women's Rights in Development (AWID) is an international membership organisation connecting, informing and mobilizing people and organizations committed to achieving gender equality, sustainable development and women's human rights. Volunteers are important to AWID: on one hand, they can help AWID to advance its work in gender and development and women's rights, while also bringing AWID one step closer to reaching its objectives by providing a space for individuals to increase their own capacity and strengthen their commitment to gender equity and social justice. People choose to volunteer with AWID because it provides an opportunity to: gain experience in the field of gender and international development and women's rights; develop strong research and writing skills; learn about international women's issues and initiatives; access resources on women's issues; and acquire reference and letters of recommendation. For further information view the AWID volunteer website.
