Interested in holding a Model UN Conference at your school or university?

The Association provides teachers with close support and assistance from the initial stages of deciding upon a conference topic, to the provision of an information pack from which the students are able to prepare themselves for the conference day.

The Association coordinates and manages all aspects of the day itself, including organising keynote speakers and identifying experts in the topic field to play the role of Secretary General and Chair the formal proceedings.

All conference materials are provided and the Association also writes the Resolution, the central conference document to be debated and amended.

Further support was also provided to teachers in 2009 through the Model United Nations Conference for Teachers, run in conjunction with the Department of Education and Early Childhood Development, where the topic ‘Rewrite the Future: The Right of Every Child to Universal Education’ was debated by over 60 delegates.  Teams of three, with the option of having one student per team, were divided into country groups and the event was also open to Teacher and Subject Associations and other educators. This Model UN Conference was part of the 2009 Values Education Professional Learning Program which provided an interactive and engaging learning environment for teacher professional learning, particularly in relations to values-based approaches.
