Northern Metropolitan Region Model UN Conference 2011
Northern Metropolitan Region Model UN Conference 2011
The Northern Metro Region Model UN Conference organised in partnership with the Department of Education and Early Childhood Development was filmed and aired on 29 September on ClassTV, Channel 31. Class TV is Melbourne’s own, student-run television program. Planned, prepared and presented by Thornbury High School students in conjunction with Coburg Senior High School, Class TV showcases talented young Victorian students. In this case, it follows and explains the Model UN Conference proceedings with students sharing their experience as delegates and countries' ambassadors of UN Member States to this mock session of the UN General Assembly. The guest speaker for the Conference was Pamela Curr, Campaigns Coordinator at the Asylum Seeker Resource Centre and the 'acting' Secretary General was Samantha Charlesworth from the Hotham Mission Asylum Seeker Project.
