We offer internship placements for university students in the UNAA Victoria office.
We are committed to providing ‘on-the-job’ learning for educational purposes based, where appropriate, on an intern’s university coursework requirements. Interns are required to work a minimum of 2 days per week (9am – 5pm), all placements are for a minimum of 6 months.
Under the guidance of UNAA staff, interns are involved in supporting the Association’s organisational objectives.
Interns undertake diverse tasks assisting with special projects as well as with day-to-day administration of the office and its many programs and activities. Interns receive invaluable experience working in a small NGO environment.
In particular, we are looking for interns that share the humanitarian values of the United Nations and have:
- An interest in the UN, international relations, human rights, environment and social justice issues
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills and a professional phone manner
- Excellent time management and research/analytical skills
- The ability to work independently with minimum supervision as well as in a team
- Good attention to detail and commitment to producing work of a professional standard
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe InDesign/Photoshop preferred
