The United Nations Association of Australia Media Peace Awards were established in 1979, and recognise those in the media whose work highlights and champions human rights, humanitarian and social justice issues.
Winners of the 2011 Media Peace Awards were announced at the Awards Presentation Dinner in Melbourne on Friday 21 October, hosted by Virginia Trioli, ABC News Breakfast.
